Kung Fu Cult Master (1993)
Set during the Yuen Dynasty, many sects compete for possession of the two golden swords which contain the secret to dominance of the world of martial arts. The first faction, led by Shaolin, consists of Shaolin, Wu Tang, Ngo Mai, Kun Lun, Hung Tung and Wah Shan. The second is the Ming Sect, otherwise known as the Fire Sect or Evil Sect, led by branch leaders Queen of Purple Dragon, King of White Eagle, King of Gold Lion and King of Green Bat. A student of Wu Tang, befriends Gold Lion and marries the daughter of White Eagle. He is killed for the secret of the location of the missing sword. His infant son witnesses this and vows revenge on the heads of the sect. Unfortunately he has a jinx which prevents him from learning martial arts.
Dragons Forever (1987)
Jackie Chan stars as a hot-shot lawyer hired by a Hong Kong chemical plant to dispose of opposition to their polluting ways. But when he falls for a beautiful woman out to stop the plant, Jackie is torn in a conflict of interest and asks his trusty friends Samo and Biao to help out at least until they discover the true purpose of the plant.
Dragons Forever seems to me to be a little overlooked amongst Jackie’s other more celebrated movies such as Project A or Armour of God. It’s a pity, because I’ve seen more then 40 of his movies and Dragons would be in my top ten or very close.
It’s practically your perfect Jackie Chan movie; great action, great humour, and just a lot of fun to watch. I didn’t find the romance side painful at all, though character’s motivations can be a little shady.
As you might know- Jackie, Samo, and Yuen Biao haven’t appeared together in a project since Dragons Forever, and as much as i enjoy Jackie alongside a Tucker or a Wilson, it would be just great to have those three reunited again some day soon!
Project A2 (1987)
Dragon Ma is back, having rid the seas of the dreaded Pirate Lo. Back on land, he is assigned to the police force, where he is to clean up corruption and crime in a local suburb. Along the way, he is caught up in the fate of several Chinese patriots attempting to secure sympathy and support for their revolutionary cause. The Chinese Manchu government is after these revolutionaries, and anyone that stands in their way is in trouble, even if they are in the police force.
Police Story II (1988)
Despite his success at apprehendingcriminals, Kevin Chan’s unorthadox approach to his work as a police officer sees him demoted to the traffic branch. Despite this, the manhe put behind bars is now out of prison, and has vowed to make his life a misery. While this crime boss his harrassing Kevin and his girlfriend, the police are contemplating reinstating Kevin to help them fight a group of bomberss attempting to extort $10 million from building owners.
